Who are we?

Mourne Stimulus Day Centre is a voluntary organisation which provides practical support for 35 adults with varying degrees of learning disabilities, so they can develop to the best of their individual ability.

Mourne Stimulus Ltd is committed to ensuring the privacy and security of your personal data is protected. This is in accordance with Data Protection legislation including, from 25th May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

This privacy policy details the information that we hold on you, how it is collected, how it is used and to whom it is disclosed.

We may update this privacy policy on occasion and an up to date copy is available on our website.

What personal data do we hold?

If you are an attender – If you attend our day care service we will need to collect information such as your name, age, address, gender, phone contact details, email address, next of kin information, GP contact details and possibly sensitive personal information concerning your health and well being. To provide complete care we may also collect some information about family members and carers. Throughout the year we also maintain personal records via Annual Reviews, Progress Review Reports, Care Plans, Risk Assessments, Needs Assessments, Medical Records, Accident/Incident Reports and daily notes.

Fundraiser – The personal information we collect about you for the purposes of fundraising might include your name, address, email, phone number, IP address, photo or video image.

Suppliers – The personal information we collect about you for the purposes of supplying goods might include company name, address, email and bank details.

How do we collect the above data?

We may collect your data in a number of ways, including:

  • When we receive your personal data from a third party such as SHSCT and Allied Health Professionals
  • When you make direct contact with Mourne Stimulus Day Centre (for example via email, telephone or letter)

How do we use your personal data?

We may use your data in the following ways:

  • To ensure the information we hold is up to date
  • To assist with the daily operation of our business
  • To inform relevant parties in case of emergencies
  • To comply with legal requests/obligations eg: RQIA, SHSCT
  • To process payments to Suppliers
  • To help promote/advertise upcoming fund raising events
  • For any other purpose by which you give us consent

Who do we disclose your data to?

We will only share your data with relevant parties who have a legal, contractual or legitimate reason to do so, or it is otherwise in your vital interests.

This includes:

  • Parties in case of an emergency (eg: GP, Police or next of kin)
  • Where we have a legal obligation to disclose (RQIA and SHSCT)
  • Board of Directors, Manager of the Day Centre and staff of Mourne Stimulus Day Centre

Data Retention and Security

Mourne Stimulus Day Centre will only hold your data for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or as long as is required to comply with legal guidelines.

Data will be securely destroyed when no longer required.

Right to Complain

Mourne Stimulus Day Centre is required to inform you about how you can make a complaint relating to a data breach or if you think Mourne Stimulus Day Centre is not processing your data appropriately.
